A blend of purely traditional and rootsy but contemporary songs that rend hommage to those who, for one reason or another, find themselves far from their homeland — immigrants, cultures forced from their homes against their will, adventurers, wanderers. Produced by Canadian folksinger-songwriter Garnet Rogers (brother to the late great Stan Rogers), the album is haunting and soulful and features some wonderful surprises, like Watt's interpretation of the classic "Auld Lang Syne" that takes it far from its accustomed cliché and a spoken-word piece about early Scottish immigrants to the Eastern Townships of Québec.

Backing musicians include Jeff Wiseman (piano, guitar, backing vocals), Garnet Rogers (guitar, fiddle, backing vocals), Oliver Schroer (fiddle), Len Wallace (accordion), David Woodhead (bass), Corey Thompson (drums, percussion), Noel Jago (percussion), Ian Goodfellow (Highland pipes, Uillean pipes) and David Travers-Smith (trumpet). Bobby backs himself on guitar and bouzouki.

"…a sometimes unlikely blend of traditional music and fresh lyrics, unfailingly brought down to earth and rooted by Watt's barely mellowed Scots accent." John Degen, Varsity Review, Toronto
